Michael McCarthy

Michael McCarthy grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. After graduating from Falcon high school, he attended college at Western Colorado University where he played ice hockey. While in college, he joined the Colorado Army National Guard where he met his wife, Sarah. Together, they served in the National Guard for 6 years. Michael as a 13M HIMARS Operator and Sarah as a 68W Combat Medic. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Michael earned the rank of Sergeant and was deployed to the middle east where he conducted fire missions in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. 

After his time in the National Guard, Michael was then hired as a real estate broker by Keller Williams Realty Northern Colorado in Fort Collins, CO. He then went on to serve as the marketing manager for Motoadventure, a Kawasaki and Beta dealership in Loveland, Colorado. After a 5 year stay in Fort Collins, Michael and his wife returned to Colorado Springs. 

Currently, Michael is an Advertising Account Executive for KOAA NBC Channel 5 where he partners with local businesses to create and manage TV and digital advertising campaigns. His position at KOAA puts him in contact with many local business owners who are either veterans or support the military community. Michael has a passion for growing veteran owned businesses and connecting these business owners with transitioning veterans. He also sits on the KOAA Community Committee which identifies and participates in volunteer opportunities and selects the monthly Jefferson Awards winner. The Jefferson Awards is a prestigious nationwide program that recognizes people making extraordinary efforts to make their neighborhoods better through service. 

In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time outdoors and is an avid golfer, snowboarder, scuba diver, hockey player, and car enthusiast.
