Patrick McCarthy

Patrick McCarthy is a highly skilled professional with a diverse background encompassing the energy industry, engineering, and military service. With a decade of experience in the Energy Industry, he has successfully undertaken gas gathering, transmission, and integrity projects. Prior to his work in the energy sector, Patrick served as an Interdisciplinary Engineer for the Department of Defense and the Directorate of Public Works, overseeing a wide range of demolition, construction, and renovation projects. He also dedicated nine years of his life to the US Army, serving as an Engineer Officer in both operational and staff positions, including combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Patrick’s educational background boasts a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster Certification (CSM), a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management and Construction Management (minor) from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.

Growing up in a large family of seven children in Lafayette Hill, PA, just outside Philadelphia, he developed a strong work ethic and had the distinction of being the first in his family to attend a Military Academy. During his time at West Point, he played an active role as a member of the Army Lacrosse Team, Vice President of the Catholic Choir, and President of the Native American Heritage Forum. Throughout his military career, Patrick held various positions, from Combat and Construction Engineer in operational roles, such as Platoon Leader and Company Commander, to staff positions like Battalion Planner and Brigade Engineer. He served in the 555th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, and 4th Infantry Division, overseeing projects involving road, airfield, bridge, and building construction and repairs. He also led force protection initiatives and conducted maneuver and route clearance operations involving demolition and disposal of explosive devices (IEDs).

Patrick’s experiences at West Point and in the military honed his leadership, teamwork, and resilience, fueling his drive to accomplish goals. He remains committed to supporting fellow veterans and actively advocates for their involvement and successful transition into new ventures. Patrick is dedicated to identifying and promoting mentorship, guidance, and increased engagement within the community.

For the past 14 years, Patrick and his family have proudly called Colorado their home. Currently residing in Monument with his wife, Dianne, and their three daughters (Isabel, Emaleine, and Olivia); Patrick fully embraces his role as a devoted family man. Together, they enjoy pursuing hobbies such as skiing, snowboarding, golf, hiking, and mountain biking.
