Sherri Heitz

Sherri has held numerous leadership positions both in the workforce and as a volunteer.  She worked seventeen years in the food and customer service fields, where she developed character and patience. She is five courses away from holding her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management, emphasizing Nonprofit Management from Colorado Christian University.

Within the Assembly of God denomination, Sherri led teams of volunteers as the Missionettes Coordinator. She grew the ministry from 30 participants to over 160 participants and a volunteer staff that consisted of 20 teachers and admins. As the Pikes Peak Section Rep, she was responsible for the development and mentorship of 13 Women’s Ministries Departments. Sherri was on the District Staff of the Pikes Peak Section Women’s Ministries. Duties included planning and executing conferences, retreats, and mission trips, both in the US and abroad.

Sherri served as a volunteer administrator for a ministry within World Challenge, Inc. She managed the budget, volunteer teams, and the scheduling of events. She maintained the storage and distribution of food, clothing, and toiletry donations to marginalized neighborhoods in Colorado Springs. Twice a year, Sherri co-organized, with the Department of Human Services, the distribution of goods and fun activities for thousands of community members, two years in a row.

Sherri’s nonprofit career officially started in 2017 when she was an intricate part of co-founding a nonprofit, called Comission, with a board and leader who is passionate about taking the Gospel to the streets of inner cities across America. Sherri currently holds the position of Secretary/ Treasurer and oversees the bookkeeping and administrative duties.

Sherri worked for a year at Crossroads Ministries/ Crossroads School of Chaplaincy. The ministry provides soul care to seniors in nursing homes. The school is a year-long program that trains Chaplains for the workforce. Sherri served as the office administrator and registrar.  Her duties included bookkeeping, filing, and office procedures.

She is married and has two adult children, ages 28 and 23. She and her husband are currently raising their grandchildren, ages 1 and 2. As a mother/grandmother of multi-generation children, she brings a unique perspective to the juggling act women face balancing motherhood and professional lives. Sherri, her husband, and her grandchildren live in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO.
